COFFEE WITH THE COPS AT THE COLLEGIUM

On a wonderful chilly afternoon (21st February 2018), The Pasco Police extended their generosity and walked into the Collegium to have coffee with everyone who was interested in meeting them at a more personal level. The event which was called “Coffee with the Cops” was well represented by the Pasco Police. We had residents from the Tierra Vida community including guests from nearby communities taking time to have Coffee with the Cops. It was wonderful to see kids speaking to the Cops.

I spoke to Sergeant Scott and he told us that this concept of having coffee with the general public gives them the opportunity to meet people at a social level. He stated that in normal circumstances the Cops often came into contact with community members in situations that require using caution and in some cases aggression. He therefore said that meeting the people over a cup of coffee helps bridge misconceptions that the public may have about the Cops. He was also quick to add that it was also a good break for the Cops. They thoroughly enjoy socializing over a cup of Coffee.

All of us at the Collegium were delighted to host this event which provided a great platform for the residents to meet and greet these brave men who risk their lives to give us a safe and peaceful society.
