The Community of Servant Leaders (CSL) is a cohort of practitioners who have completed servant leadership courses over the years with the Center for Sharing. Each quarter, we gather together in fellowship so that we may continue to be a light and a blessing to one another as we seek to live out the principles of servant leadership in our respective communities.
This month, the CSL dinner was held on Thursday, June 17, at 5:30pm. The aroma of food on the grill, the sight of old and new friends and the sound of fellowship filled the air once again. After an absence of over a year due to COVID, Glenn Cross welcomed a gathering of 31 attendees to this long-anticipated evening.
The evening started with an icebreaker and then a prayer before everyone enjoyed an incredible meal, including chicken shish kebab, a variety of salads, and delicious brownies. Glenn introduced the kitchen staff who not only prepared the meal but were also responsible for decorating the room.
Glenn also introduced Carmelo Di Salvo as our new Servant Leadership Development Coordinator! In this role, Carmelo will support the development of servant leadership curriculum and coursework, and we are excited to welcome him to our team. Carmelo spoke on how servant leadership has impacted his personal and professional life with an example from the life of his grandmother. The floor was then opened for stories of servant leadership’s impact on others.
Finally, the community taped a birthday greeting to Leann Griffin, who is now practicing servant leadership in Arizona, and we ended the evening with Antonio’s closing prayer.
If you would like to know more about becoming a part of this exciting community of servant leaders, please reach out to us. We would love to hear from you!
