HELPING A FRIEND IN NEED

On a regular afternoon at the Collegium I saw Christian and Jennifer with their school books. I thought they were both doing their homework. I however decided to talk to them and asked them what they were doing?  Christian told me that Jennifer was helping him with his mathematics homework.

Christian is 10 years old and in Grade 4 whereas Jennifer is in Grade 3 and is 9 old. I was quite amazed to see this real act of sharing and caring for each other at such a tender age. I asked Jennifer how she felt helping her friend. She simply smiled and was feeling very shy to answer. I thought her reaction was so genuine and so natural for a child, her age. However, when I asked her how she was so willing to help she simply said her friends and community teach her a lot.

It feels wonderful to see these little kids setting an example for many of us to replicate. We feel fortunate at the Center for Sharing that we are able to provide a platform for these little ones to express themselves and spread positivity in the community through their actions and we are so proud that these children are not only progressing well in their studies but at the same time are setting an example for others to follow.
