On April 21, 2018, CASA had hosted the Spring Community Party. The weekend event, which was held in the Tierra Vida community was full of activities that kept children as well as the adults quite entertained. The games were open to everyone who was willing to participate and take up the challenge! There was also lots of food and drinks available that quenched the tired bodies that were overworked participating in games that were physically demanding. That however did not deter the participants from the enthusiasm that they showed for the activities that were on display.
What made the event special was the fact that it gave the opportunity for the community to come together and have some fun. It gave community members a chance to meet people they hadn’t seen in a while and have a good time together while at the same time making new friendships. More importantly it was an event that raised funds for the youth summer program to support families that cannot afford to send their children. It was wonderful to see different organizations such as Domestic Violence Services, Children Frist, Apple Health, Pasco Recreation, and the Center for Sharing come together and sponsor the event and at the same time enlighten the participants about their organizations and the work that they do to foster a healthier and more peaceful society.
The Center for Sharing was happy to contribute for the event by setting up its own booth and sensitizing the participants about its various activities that cater to people in need. We also contributed towards sponsoring a few gifts for the winners of the games for the day. It was a wonderful time together and very fulfilling to have contributed our share for the event in support of raising thriving children within a flourishing community.
