A PUMPKIN DECORATION CONTEST

In honor of Halloween next week, our Collegium Café decided to host a Pumpkin Decoration Contest for staff of Center for Sharing, Vista Hermosa Foundation and CASA on October 24th!  It was organized by Rachel Gaddam, café manager. It was nice to see most of the staff participate in this fun filled event. The concept was simple as we had the decorations placed on one table and the Pumpkins placed on other tables in a line. The participants were given the opportunity to choose what they liked from the table that had all the decorations before they went to their respective seats and started decorating. They were given approximately 45 minutes and at the end of the time limit, pumpkins had been totally transformed, thanks to the amazing skills and artistry of the staff of CFS, VHF and CASA.

It was a contest that was thoroughly enjoyable. The staff were seen having lots of fun while they decorated their pumpkins with the hope that they win the contest. I personally felt that this was a unique event that came as a welcome respite to all the hard-working staff of CFS, VHF and CASA. This event was witness to everything from emotions, drama, competitiveness, laughs, amazing skills, talent, lots of talking, time management, etc. Amidst all the action and drama, making time for events like this helps build positive staff relationships. It gave the staff an opportunity to come together for a short while and display their talents and at the same time have lots of fun. It was delightful to see the spirit with which the staff participated and made the event such a huge success. We thank them all for giving us such an amazing afternoon at the Collegium and especially congratulate Melonie, Lupe and Alicia for winning the contest and Rachel Gaddam for thinking the whole idea up!
