This event is a celebration of Women and a fundraiser for El Centro De Compartimiento AC, (CDC) a non-profit in Oaxaca, Mexico that helps young women stay in school, escape poverty and child marriage and become leaders to help others do the same. 100% of the event’s proceeds will go to pay for expenses related to housing, feeding and caring for these young women so they can focus on their education.
The evening will include local and international cuisine, entertainment from gifted local women performers, stories of young women who were empowered through education, and a keynote address by Cheryl Broetje, director of the Center for Sharing and a tireless advocate for the rights of women in the developing world. All this for just $5. You can pay at the door, or make a Paypal donation to the Center for Sharing with the words “International Women’s Day” on the notes. Just so you know the whole story, the Center For Sharing helped CDC to get it’s start over 7 years ago. Today, it is serving 14 young women and has changed the lives these young women as well as others who have completed the program. Women’s lives are being changed through the power of education and from generous support of donors like you!
