This year marks the 20th anniversary of Centro de Compartimiento (CDC), a Center for Sharing partner serving young women from the remote villages of Oaxaca, Mexico — places where education and life choices are extremely limited.
Yudi was one of the first to arrive at CDC — a bright girl from the impoverished village of San Dionisio del Mar. Yudi found more than just shelter — she found a community that helped guide her spiritually, emotionally, and academically. With their support, she learned to dream beyond the limits of her village, excelled in college, earned an IT degree, and eventually moved to Mexico City to build her career.
While not every story ends in triumph, Yudi’s journey is far from rare. Dozens of young women have found healing, discovered their purpose, and realized new possibilities at CDC — a place committed to nurturing the whole person. Through the years, CDC’s mission has grown to include local boys who are searching for belonging and purpose in their own lives. This natural progression has created a multi-generational ripple of renewal and spiritual growth.
Cheryl, Ralph, and Glenn visited CDC to celebrate this milestone anniversary — a time filled with joy and gratitude. Former students returned to share how CDC shaped their paths into careers, leadership, and even parenthood. Their smiles radiated strength and the unmistakable presence of God in their lives.
Adhela Toledo Luis and Kristin Lietz are the founders and leaders of CDC. As their own lives were being transformed, they’ve been able to walk with others to overcome family cycles of poverty, addiction, and trauma. Now, these amazing women are taking time to rest, reflect, and dream about what’s next for CDC.
